Buddhism

Buddhism is the world's forth largest religion. Buddhism founded in 6th century BC.  It was founded in the Nort India. The founder was Gautam Buddha (an Indian prince). Main locations: China, Japan,  Korea and Southeast Asia. Main sects. Theravada and Mahayana. Theravada is atheistic, Mayana is more polytheistic The foundations of Buddhist tradition and practice are the 3 Jewles: the Buddha, the Dharma (the teachings), and the Sangha (the community).  Buddhism has 4 Noble Truths. That is:
  • All of life is marked by suffering
  • Suffering is caused by desire and attachment
  • Suffering can be eliminated
  • Suffering is eliminated by following the Noble Eightfold Path
